Emily,

Every person deserves dignity. Every worker deserves to come home safely.

Last week, seven Latino construction workers were pulled over near Dubuque by the Iowa State Patrol.

Instead of a normal traffic stop, they were held hostage on the side of the road for nearly an hour while a state trooper investigated their immigration status.

This injustice isn’t an accident. It’s the result of Iowa’s 287(g) Task Force Agreement — a program that deputizes state troopers to act like ICE agents, turning routine stops into immigration dragnets.

Yesterday, four of the impacted workers and Escucha Mi Voz Iowa filed a formal civil rights complaint against ICE and the Iowa Department of Public Safety.

Now, we are building a chorus of voices demanding action.

We invite you to stand with workers, with immigrants, and with justice:

✍️ Add your name to disband Iowa’s ICE Task Force

Already, the truth is breaking through.

📰 The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports: "Immigrants File Civil Rights Complaint Against Iowa State Patrol Over Traffic Stop Near Dubuque."

📰 KGAN - Iowa News Now says: "Latino Workers File Civil Rights Complaint Over Prolonged Traffic Stop."

The momentum is growing. Let’s turn headlines into real change.

Iowa's ICE Task Force has to go.

Will you help us deliver a message that can't be ignored?

Solidarity and hope,

Emily, David, and the Catholic Worker House team
