I am happy to announce the open call for peer reviewers for the second edition of The OER Starter Kit!
This
has been a long time coming, and I'm excited to get feedback for the
final revisions to the book before its publication later this year.
To express interest in serving as a peer reviewer, complete our Peer Review Interest Form. The call for reviewers will close on Friday, February 13. Reviewers
will be notified if they are selected to participate by Friday,
February 20, with a final deadline for completed reviews of Friday, March 20, 2026. A rubric for completing the review process will be provided.
About the Book
The OER Starter Kit was
created to serve as an entry point for educators exploring the use of
open educational resources (OER). Since its creation, the original
starter kit has been translated, adapted, and remixed multiple times. In
this second edition, edits have been made to address developments in
the field of open education since 2018. Additionally, new information in
the second edition brings forward research, resources, and tools to
support advocates and practitioners who want to move beyond a simple
understanding of OER to explore processes for adapting, creating, and
assessing the use of open educational resources and practices.
Credit for Reviewers
Peer
reviewers will be credited in the Acknowledgments page of the published
volume, unless otherwise requested. If you require a certificate or
other proof of your participation in the project for tenure and
promotion purposes, we can provide this to you at the completion of your
review.
