We want to team up with you!

We need more OER Superheros to support our students. By joining this team (attending this summit), you will have opportunities to forge connections, collaborations, and partnerships that promote openness. Together, we can lift our students, celebrate our success, and share our challenges. Help us reinvent the future where all have access and opportunity to create knowledge for the public good. We look forward to you joining us on this adventure! You can register for the 2022 Iowa OER Summit for FREE now!

The Iowa Open Education Resources Team (Iowa OER) is now accepting proposals for the 2022 OER Summit. This call invites proposals for four types of concurrent presentations:

  • Lightning Talks: 10-minute talk + 5-minute Q&A, clustered by theme or topic. Propose one talk and we’ll match you with others or propose a set of three related 10-minute talks.
  • Panels: 45-minute panels with 3-4 panelists speaking about a particular topic, issue, or program. We encourage panels that include individuals representing different roles at your institution. Panelists are asked to leave at least 5 minutes for Q&A at the end of the session.
  • Birds-of-a-Feather: 45-minute sessions targeted for specific audiences, such as STEM faculty, librarians, or instructional designers.
  • Sage-on-the-Stage: 45-minute sessions in an area of great familiarity or expertise and applicable to various audiences.

We are especially interested in proposals that address the following:

  • Copyright/Licensing
  • Evaluating OER
  • Involving Students in Creating OER
  • Lessons Learned
  • OER Technology

Submission Deadline: November 30, 2021

The CFP for the first annual Iowa OER Summit is ending today, so send in a proposal if you're interested! It's a great chance to show off your work and connect with other educators and advocates across the state of Iowa. And even if you don't have work to share or talk about, we'd love to e-see you there in March!
