Hello, Iowa OER friends!
This email has two purposes:
First, to re-share a potential resource of interest, our
OER Commons Group for Iowa colleges and universities! This Group contains a curated list of OER developed in or used across Iowa colleges. If you would like to review or add to the collection, you only need to make a free OER Commons account to join! A handout about the OER Commons Group is attached for additional details, and linked in the
Iowa OER Toolkit.
Second, we sent out our annual survey request Two weeks ago. If you have not seen this call yet, please check out the call below for context and consider responding or forwarding to the best representative for your institution:
The Iowa Open Education Action Team is conducting its eighth annual survey on Open Educational Resources (OER) to
gather baseline information on how these affordable course materials
are being implemented across colleges and universities in Iowa.
Please complete this survey by the end of the day on Monday, April 20th. One
response per institution is requested, understanding that input from
multiple sources may be required to locate all pertinent information.
After participating in this survey,
your institution will receive a copy of the full results and insight
into how your college compares to others in the state with regard to the
use of OER.
If you have follow-up questions about either the survey or open education generally, please contact Abbey Elder, Statewide Open Education Coordinator, at ael...@iastate.edu. --
