We’re pleased to announce another Iowa OER webinar and group discussion for educators in the state of Iowa who are interested in Open Educational Resources. Join us on November 12 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. CST for a demonstration and discussion of the Iowa Department of Education’s e-Learning Central platform. Presenters will provide information about the platform and describe how e-Learning Central can aid students, educators, and families in gaining access to important educational materials that provide resources to all Iowa schools.
Meet the presenters:
Tina Wahlert currently serves as an administrative consultant in the Bureau of School Improvement at the Iowa Department of Education. Tina has been in the education field for 36 years. Prior experience includes as a consultant at Green HIlls AEA as well as a classroom teacher in K-12 special education, English Language Arts and technology. She holds Master’s degrees in Education and Educational Administration.
Christi Donald currently serves as an education program consultant in the Bureau of Information and Analysis Services at the Iowa Department of Education. Christi has been in education for 22 years. Prior experience includes secondary mathematics teacher, adjunct instructor in mathematics and curriculum, school improvement leader, and secondary mathematics curriculum coordinator. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Drake University, a Master's in School Mathematics from Iowa State University, and an Educational Specialist's degree in Educational Leadership from Drake University.
April Pforts currently serves as the mathematics consultant in the Bureau of Learning Strategies and Supports at the Iowa Department of Education. April has been in the education field for 18 years. Prior experience includes adjunct professor, Iowa Learning online instructor, district coach as well as a classroom teacher in 6-12 mathematics. She holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics, Master’s in Education and Educational Administration.
The presentation will be followed by a group discussion and Q&A.
