Good afternoon, Iowa OER community!
Based on feedback from colleges and
universities across the state of Iowa, Iowa OER is excited to launch a new service for
institutions that need support with their open education initiatives: institutional consultations!
Through this project, individuals at colleges around the state will be able to submit a consultation request form
to ask for support with your open education initiative. The request form provides flexibility for you to share
information about your initiative's progress and any specific issues you
may be facing. After your request is received, you will be paired with a volunteer
consultant who matches your needs.
Because this work is supported by volunteers, consultations are short-term
engagements and should last no more than 1-3 hours in total. Still, we
hope that this service will help build competency and comfort with open
education as more colleges in Iowa delve into open education work.
Note: This service is focused on supporting the "behind-the-scenes" OER work
that staff and faculty manage, not individual courses. For faculty
looking for specific OER, we recommend working with your local
OER support staff or a librarian near you.
If you have any questions about this service, let us know!
Sincerely,
Iowa Open Education Action Team
