Good morning, all!
The ISU Digital Press is pleased to announce the publication of a new open educational resource:
Author: Erin Todey
The
graduate school application is high-stakes, and it can feel
overwhelming because the expectations, materials, and processes are not
always clear to applicants. To address these challenges, this
peer-reviewed handbook provides an introduction to the graduate school
application process and the required materials, with a specific focus on
the statement of purpose (SoP), an essay that is usually a required,
and important, part of the application.
A Guide to Writing the Statement of Purpose for Graduate School Applications discusses
the conventions and expectations of the SoP and the writing process,
and includes sample SoPs written by students who have been accepted into
a graduate program as models.
The book is available as a free, open access edition with both interactive online and downloadable PDF versions available.
