Free OER authoring software pilot

Hello colleagues,

The Open Education Network (OEN) has just announced that they are opening up the free pilot allowing access to Manifold ebook creation software for all OEN member institutions until March 2025 (and potentially beyond, pending usage)! As I understand it, that includes all Iowa academic institutions since we have a statewide OEN membership. See details below. 

I coordinated UNI's participation in an initial, smaller Manifold pilot, and we've been able to publish several OER successfully through the platform. I would be happy to share about UNI's experience or assist any institutions interested in trying out Manifold to adapt or create OER. We currently are using it even though we don't offer OER grants for faculty. We are kicking off the new year with an invitation to explore a newly updated Manifold!

The Open Education Network (OEN) is expanding Manifold access to all community members through March 2025, and possibly beyond. It's up to you! If we discover that the community finds it useful, there is the potential for Manifold to become a community benefit for institutional members at no additional cost.

Manifold Community Meetup and Demo

If you'd like to see a demo of the new features, including the ability to edit within Manifold, the Manifold team is hosting a Community Meetup on Wednesday, January 17 at 12 pm Central. Registration is required.
