GAPE passwords

I am looking to head off any problems for the start of the next school year. We have assigned GAPE accounts to all of our students from grades 4 through 12. Just seeing the number of students that have forgotten their passwords over spring break, I am anticipating a large number of students forgetting passwords over the summer. What is the "path of least resistance" to keep my job of administering these accounts in the sanity range? I am aware that I will soon be able to assign administrative permissions to select staff. So, the questions I have are:

Is there an automated system that a user can reset their forgotten password without admin assistance?

What is the rollout date when I be able to assign administrative permissions?

How granular will I be able to assign those permissions (just reset passwords - or that along with a larger set of permissions)?

Can I assign a specific group for my sub-admins to admin?

What are your procedures for resting forgotten passwords?
