I am using the stand alone version for now but I have 8 computers that have scanners and need to scan these tags.  How can move the data (tag data) between computers so that I don't have to scan and assign URLs on each PC?  This goes the same when I am ready to update to a new version, I don't want to have to rescan all of my tags.  I moved the whole iotope folder but with no luck as my tags do not scan on the second PC.

Awesome job on the node software!  thanks for that and for helping me with my question.

In the future you can move data around with the server... but as the server is not yet up I will tell you a hack:

the h2 database is written in your home folder ( on windows this is C:\Users\<name>\ ). You will find 3 iotope-node.* files, this is the database. You can copy them to your other machines. Make sure IOTOPE is not running so it hasn't any locks on the database.

I'll make sure I have migration scripts as soon as the database schema changes between versions.

Thank you!  I am going to try that now!

I use touchatag in a sea turtle rehab simulator for children at a nonprofit Aquarium.  With the touchatag servers we have had to have internet available.  This stand alone makes it portable to demonstrate in schools and other hard to reach internet spots.  I cannot wait until the server is available so I can host locally.  I can send you some information on it if you would like to read more about the project.  Once I am happy with the stability I will officially be calling it IOTOPE instead of touchatag.  I am running the local version on a single PC and am scanning tags all day.  I think my PC went to sleep which killed the java service.  Hopefully turning off sleep mode will fix that problem because I need these to scan everyday multiple times.

Again, bravo on this project and thanks again for your quick response.

I assumed you are talking about a non-hosted server, or are there plans to host a server?

It's a hosted server. Although it will be API's only in the beginning (no administration console).

Moving the h2 db files worked perfectly--Saved me a lot of time.  I now have  8 stand alone, independent readers working great!  Withstood a whole weekend of being beat up by the public of all ages!  Thanks!
