Hi :)
Amazing job! Almost works on 10.8.3.
Hardware info.
HBA: ATTO ExpressPCI UL5D (0x117c, 0x0030).
Tape unit: Sun branded HP C1537A DDS-3 unit
Driver: latert version of ATTO driver
System: 10.8.3
Operations such as rewind work.
I can write a tape with tar (at least it doesn't complain) and seems I can read it back.
However I have issues with long block sizes. Actually, trying to set the block size (even a value such as 512 bytes) is failing.
Both with the system supplied tar and gnutar:
bsdtar 2.8.3 - libarchive 2.8.3
tar (GNU tar) 1.17
I can't read some old tapes I wrote with a large blocksize.
But indeed it allows me to read and write.
dd is working as well.
Any idea what can be preventing the block size to be set? I don't remember, but the old tapes were written on FreeBSD with block sizes of maybe 32 KB.
Cheers,
Borja.
