Hi,

This looks very promising and is hopefully just what I need to get
some data off EXABYTEs.

On the trouble shooting page it would be helpful to add the steps to
load the IOSCSITap kext.
(I am stuck at this point)

Many thanks,
Karl

It should be that merely installing the .pkg file loads the KEXT file (perhaps have a reboot). You can check if the KEXT is loaded by checking 'kextstat' command, see here:

http://code.google.com/p/ioscsitape/wiki/Troubleshooting#3._Make_sure_IOSCSITape_is_loaded_and_is_attached_to_and_sees_th

Thanks and very curious how your experience goes!

Hi again,

When I log in I get these errors in the /var/log/system.log :

Jun  6 11:45:09 MBP-new-KH com.apple.kextd[12]: Load com.googlecode.ioscsitape.IOSCSITape failed; removing personalities.

For completeness I get

I am running Mac OS 10.6.7 (10J869), Darwin 10.7.0 in 64-bit mode.

Many thanks,

Hello Karl,

Yes, indeed, IOSCSITape's download is currently only 32-bit (the 10.5 SDK, which the currently available build of IOSCSITape is compiled against has issues with 64-bit mode). So, I'll send you a 64-bit binary compiled against the 10.6 SDK that should actually load.

Thanks,
- Jesse

Hi there

I wondered if the 64bit kext worked on Lion?

Thanks

I haven't yet done testing for 10.7 Lion, but now that I'm running it (from just a few days ago) I should be able to start testing it. I haven't even gotten Xcode tools yet, though, so it may be just a little while.

Thanks,
- Jesse
