Verify writes

Is there a way to verify tape writes, (tar -cvWf /dev/st0 in Linux terms)?

Hi Thom,

I think the verify option (-W or --verify switches) is a GNU tar-only option. Mac OS X by default uses a BSD tar. Luckily Mac OS X ships with /usr/bin/gnutar, which has that option.

I've never tested these options, so curious about your results!
