Dear Sponsored Students,
I am writing to you on Mr. Tim Huff's (ISS Manager) behalf in regards to an email we received to host three speakers from three different countries (Middle East, Mexico, and Indonesia) to give a brief presentation about their native countries. The event is held by the Foreign Policy Association and will be at the public Library (Time and dates are listed below). Mrs. Cara Beer who contacted Mr. Huff is expecting a response from our office with names and contact information of those students who are interested in taking a part in such a discussion. You can find more information and details about this event in Mrs. Beer's email forwarded below.
If you are interested in taking a part in this event, please email me or Mr. Huff back, and we will put you in contact with Mrs. Beer, the person in charge of hosting the three speakers for this event.
For those of you who are on J visa, please be informed that an important part of your J visa program in the United States is to be involved in cultural activities in the country of study, and this event is a great importunity for you to show that you have met one main requirement of the J visa program while in the United States.
Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Names and contact info please!

Tim,
Haven't heard anything from you about the possible speakers for the Great Decisions class. (email below sent 3 weeks ago). Will it be possible for you to make contact with them before the end of the semester? If you've had a negative reply from any, please
let me know. Or if I can make the initial contacts after all, (you are no doubt very busy with end-of-semester stuff), please send me their email addresses. Thanks.
Cara

Tim,
Thank you for offering to make the initial contacts for me.
What we would like is one person with some expertise and good English skills on a particular topic or issue (See below.) The Foreign Policy Association will provide us with student booklets and a 15-minute DVD on each topic. The local "expert" would then add
his or her comments, any additional information, and would address questions that come from the adult student group, which may number as many as 40. The time frame is 10 am - noon, with a 15 minute break in the middle, in the public Library auditorium.
Unfortunately we have no funds to offer the speakers, but we would like them to remain and have lunch as our guest.
The topics and dates for which we'd like a speaker are:
Middle East Realignment - Tues., Feb. 21
Mexico - Tues., Mar. 6
Indonesia - Tues., Mar. 13.
The website with further detail on the topics is
