Hi.
I installed the IE4 disk I received from IDT.
In typical MicroSoft fashion, it fiddled with my computer in many little ways.
The worst thing is that it now dials my internet connection (IDT) every time I
turn the computer on!

I am using win95. I have searched through all the registry keys, win.ini,
system.ini, etc etc but I can't figure out how to stop this from happening.

Please help me regain control of my computer!
thank you.

REPLY: You need to edit the registry (back up the registry before you do
this) click start-run- type in regedit--click ok then click on
hkey_current_config click software click microsoft click windows click
current version click internet settings and in the right hand pane you should
see autodial and it probably shows a "1" in the binary number
Right click on enable autodial , then click modify, then change the "1" to a 0
(zero) should show all zeros, then click ok then close regedit and reboot the
computer.
This worked for me--I had the same problem

Uninstall IDT's dialer.

Then, from your desktop, set up a dialer specifically for IDT. It takes about 45
seconds to set it up and you won't have to worry about all the problems and
occasional re-installs.

Double click on "My Computer"
Double click on "Control Panel"
Double click on "Dialup Networking"
Click on "New"
Fill in the dial up number, password, etc.
Get online.

Some computers may require additional steps. Play around with it to figure it out..
It is easier than messing around with IDT's CD/floppies.
