and fond memories of len rose. the guy who
1) kept the news service humming,
2) kept us informed about progress.
i miss the latter aspect most of all.

WOW! eejack! You have been an idt customer even longer than I.

Remeber the good old days when we could post to a newsgroup without

saying "can you cc:mail because my news server sucks"? Was it worse 5
years ago? I can't remember.

I know someone who's roommate used to work at IDT, he said Len was a
genius and a nut case, all in one package. He used to fire people by
pulling them away from their desk, chair and all, and changing their
password right then and there. That's what IDT needs again!

IDT is a troubled organization. I might just start looking
elsewhere...

If you try to download an mp3 song at say the usegroup: alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.1950s
or the other decades, you wind up with none of the completed song files. What the
heck is this worth? To download 150 files and not be able to find one completed mp3
file is a waste. This is also true of the other binary newsgroups that have avi, mpg,
or other files. You can never get the completed avi or mpg file. It was never this way when I first
signed up about 3 years or so ago. Do others find this to be so? My friend has Worldnet
(AT&T) and he says he has no such problems.

And the reason why we are still here is because...

A) We like the great taste and less filling aspects of partial news
B) We like putting together puzzles with pieces missing
C) We need something to complain about
D) Keep expecting part 53 of 54 to show up and don't want to miss it.

F: when you get a full posting, you feel like you won the lottery.
G: I am too lazy to move my websites to a new ISP and inform my many
friends of my new email.
