We are thrilled to announce the First International Workshop on Sound Signal Processing Applications (IWSSPA) 2024, to be held as a satellite event of the XXIV International Conference on Computational and Mathematical Methods in Science and Engineering (CMMSE). This workshop provides an unparalleled platform for researchers and practitioners to delve into the latest advancements in sound signal processing.

IWSSPA 2024 aims to serve as a forum for discourse on cutting-edge research, innovations, and applications in sound signal processing. With a focus on the convergence of sound technology and diverse applications, the workshop will feature paper presentations and ample networking opportunities.

We invite submissions covering a broad spectrum of topics related to sound signal processing applications, including but not limited to:

• Audio signal processing
• Speech recognition and synthesis
• Music information retrieval
• Environmental sound analysis
• Acoustic scene analysis
• Sound-based human-computer interaction
• Sound processing for virtual reality and augmented reality
• Audio-based healthcare applications
• Acoustic sensor networks
• Audio coding and compression
• Machine learning techniques for sound processing

Special Issue:
A selection of the best papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their work to a special issue in the prestigious EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech and Music Processing, ISSN 1687-4722. This special issue serves as an exceptional platform for sharing and promoting exceptional research within the realm of sound signal processing.

• Notification of Paper Acceptance: June 4, 2024
• Author Registration by: June 7, 2024
• Special Issue Deadline: October 2024

I am writing to remind you of the approaching deadline for paper submissions to the First International Workshop on Sound Signal Processing Applications (IWSSPA) 2024.

Due to several requests and to accommodate potential contributors, we have decided to extend the paper submission deadline to June 5, 2024. This extension offers you additional time to finalize and submit your contributions to the workshop.

However, please note that the deadline for hotel registration remains May 31, 2024. As such, if you are planning to attend the workshop, we strongly recommend securing your accommodation at the Barceló Costa Ballena Golf & Spa, Costa Ballena, Rota, Spain, as soon as possible. Reservations can be canceled free of charge up to 72 hours before the check-in date. It's worth noting that the hotel reservation includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner with complimentary drinks (wine, water, beer, and soft drinks) during meal times.
