Job Description:

 

MUST HAVE strong Cognos experience including Cognos tools, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.

 

• Looking for a contractor for a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer role on our Claims Operational Reporting Team located in Hartford, CT. This person would be responsible for developing reports in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Cognos BI. The candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages.   

 

• Following is a job description of the position.
• Senior BI Developer (1)

 

• 3+ years experience in BI Development with expertise in using Microsoft BI Technology (SQL Server 2005/2008, T-SQL, SQL Server Management, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS) and Cognos BI Technology
• 7+ years of overall system development experience in BI, Operational Reporting and/or Data Warehouse Solutions
• Strong development skills in SSRS using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/2008 and Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS).

 

• Experience in developing reports using Cognos BI 8 is required.
• Familiar with developing and maintaining SSIS Packages 2005/2008.
• Experience working with cubes (Dimensions and Facts) is a plus.  
• P&C Insurance business specifically claims processing is a plus.
• Possess good interpersonal skills and be team-oriented.
• Ability to fit in with the team and work in a fast pace environment with tight deadlines is essential.
• Responsibilities will include:
• Creating advanced reports in SSRS using BIDS and Cognos BI
• Mentoring and assisting internal reporting team in building reports using Cognos BI
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of SSIS packages
