Data standards for beach mapping

Hi all,

I'm working on a project where we are going to be archiving beach mapping data for surveys along the Oregon and Washington coast, and wanted to check if anyone else had worked on this sort of thing and knew of any data standards that I should be applying.

The data is fairly simple, where it is organized into a number of transects taken in each littoral cell. Each transect contains a survey number, survey date, easting and northing distances, surface elevation, and measurement approach. We've built up some relevant metadata to accompany it, but if there were methods that others are already using, I'd love to learn more about them so I can try to create some standardization with how we're reporting this data.
