Introducing the Open Science Essentials Course

NASA has released a new, freely accessible open science training course designed for learners who are seeking a broad overview of open science concepts. Open Science Essentials (OSE) is a concise, stand-alone course built on foundational concepts presented in the Open Science 101 course.

The Open Science Essentials course provides introductory knowledge of the principles, practices, and tools necessary to conduct open science. The course covers key topics such as open data, open peer review, and collaborative research practices. Upon course completion, learners will earn a NASA Open Science Essentials digital badge.

Learners who have previously completed the more detailed Open Science 101 course will have already covered concepts presented in OSE.

NASA internal workforce - add Open Science Essentials to your learning plan in SATERN here.

Learners beyond NASA - register here for an account to take Open Science Essentials.
