NOAA Open Data Dissemination (NODD) briefing for IOOS DMAC

Please join us for a second installment of the DMAC Tech Webinar series in February.  On the 23rd at 3 ET we'll be featuring a briefing and discussion with the NODD team for the DMAC community.  Connection information below.

The NODD team will provide a comprehensive overview of the program, including how other parts of NOAA utilize NODD operationally, highlight the value of engagement in concert with the Cloud Service Providers, and then share the cloud data analytics that NODD provides to the LOs and programs. The presentation will last about 25 minutes. Follow on Q&A will allow for specific questions on how NODD can support IOOS DMAC.

Presenters:  Adrienne Simonson and Patrick Keown

Adrienne Simonson is the NOAA Open Data Dissemination (NODD) Director, within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). In this role, she leads and coordinates strategy on internal NOAA activities to enable data access, and collaborates to ensure engagement externally across public, private and academic enterprises.

In prior roles, Ms. Simonson has served NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information; the Office of Budget within the Department of Commerce; the Office of Budget within the Department of Interior; and as professional staffer for the U.S. House of Representatives Appropriations Committee, on the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Subcommittee.  Ms. Simonson is a Presidential Management Fellow, with a Masters in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Government; a Juris Doctorate from UNC School of Law; and a B.A. in Environmental Policy from Warren Wilson College.

Patrick Keown is the Program Manager for the NOAA Open Data Dissemination Program (NODD). Patrick joined OCIO permanently in March 2022. Patrick started his career at NOAA in the National Ocean Service’s Office of Coast Survey (OCS) where he worked as a Project Manager for the Hydrographic Survey Division and served as the Office of Coast Survey (OCS) Geospatial Program Manager.

Prior to joining NOAA, Patrick worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Patrick has a B.S. in Geography from Western Kentucky University. His tenure includes over 14 years of combined experience in Program Management, Project Management, GIS, and Hydrography with the NOAA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
