Dear oceanographic high-frequency radar (HFR) communities, HFR
manufacturers, and U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) data
management partners,

Prior to October, 15, 2023 would you please review the Request for
Information (RFI) at
https://sam.gov/opp/4cfd2027e50b45558f957acef19af732/view and provide
your feedback about what desired features or other factors you and
your teams believe the IOOS Surface Currents Program should consider
in our plans to replace the United States' current HFR data assembly
center (DAC) "HFRNet" (https://cordc.ucsd.edu/projects/hfrnet/) by
early Fiscal Year (FY) 2025? Due to Federal procurement regulations,
all responses to and questions about this RFI must be sent to Senior
Contract Specialist Ms. Alice Park (alice...@noaa.gov) and not
directly to me or anyone else in the U.S. IOOS Office.

The motivation for replacing HFRNet at this time is described within
the RFI. I will also be sending a notice like this to other relevant
communities of practice, so my apologies if you receive duplicate
messages. Please feel free to share this RFI with your networks who
you think may provide valuable feedback.

Best regards,
Brian

Dear oceanographic high-frequency radar (HFR) communities, HFR manufacturers, and U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) data management partners,

Regarding the e-mail thread forwarded below, please note that the subject RFI's deadline will not be extended in the event of any Federal Government shutdown.

Regards,

Brian

I agree with Alice, a shutdown does not affect the RFI deadline nor would it affect an interested firm's ability to respond timely.

Thanks

Hi Brian! I’ll defer to Tyrone to confirm, but as far as I know, any deadlines of RFIs are not affected by the shutdown, as it’s not work that’s currently being performed or anything, and potential vendors themselves are not kept from submitting information due to the shutdown.

Hello Alice,

Would you please let me know, is there a plan in place to make allowances for shutdown-induced delays (i.e., extending the 10/15/2023 deadline) for the HFRNet replacement RFI?

Best regards,
Brian
