IOOS Code Sprint Topic Due Date and Preplanning Sessions

Hi DMAC Community and Code Sprint Participants!

For this year’s Code Sprint (registration deadline November 1, 2026) we would like to plan the primary sprint topics more in advance of the event. As mentioned in previous messages, we are hosting IOOS Code Sprint Office Hours every two weeks, which started Monday, August 24th at 12pm ET and will be continuing until the event week. Connection information for those sessions is below. 

As in previous Code Sprint events, the topics are proposed, organized, and led by the participants.  At this stage, we’re looking for any and all sprint topic ideas that the community is interested in. Any idea you have is welcome!  

Over the next several weeks, we’ll discuss submitted ideas during the office hours to determine what’s most of interest to likely participants, and identify volunteers who are willing to move a topic forward by planning and organizing goals and specific activities for the Sprint.

Please submit your project proposals by September 30, 2026. This will give ample time for discussion and planning of likely sprint topics.
