Dear Oceanographic High-Frequency Radar (HFR) and Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) Communities,

Effective 7/1/2025 U.S. IOOS completed the transition described here of its HFR data assembly center known as HFRNet; it is now an internal NOAA system.  Accordingly, as described on IOOS's HFR web pages here and here, data from the IOOS HFR National Network are available from the following sources:
If you have feedback regarding HFRNet or the IOOS HFR National Network—including reporting outages of HFR data—please e-mail data...@noaa.gov for assistance.  That e-mail address will reach me along with the IOOS data team who can assist with your inquiry and route it to the appropriate parties within NOAA or its partners as necessary.  Also, as always, if you have any questions or if there is anything I can do to help, please feel free to let me know.

Best regards,
Brian

Dear Oceanographic High-Frequency Radar (HFR) and Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) Communities,

Please click on the "HFRNet Transition" tab in the webpage here for steps you can take to ensure your access to HFR data is uninterrupted — and for more information about the migration of the "HFRNet" Data Assembly Center from Scripps Institution of Oceanography’s Coastal Observing Research & Development Center (CORDC) to a new internal NOAA system.  This change is scheduled to take effect on June 30, 2025, when CORDC concludes its role.  That webpage's HFRNet Transition tab will be updated with further information as we implement this switchover, but in the meantime please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or need assistance.

Best regards,
Brian

Dear Oceanographic High-Frequency Radar (HFR) and Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) Communities,

Due to a lapse in annual funding appropriations which have resulted in a shutdown of operations in agencies across the United States of America's federal government, including its National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Federal Program Managers in NOAA's U.S. IOOS Office including myself have been placed on furlough status.  Accordingly, effective today and for the duration of the shutdown, the team at data...@noaa.gov and I will be unable to assist you with HFRNet or perform any of our other job functions.  However, unlike Federal employees, contractors in NOAA's U.S. IOOS Office can continue to work during this shutdown.  Sarina Mann (sarin...@noaa.gov) is such a contractor; please e-mail Sarina (Cc'd) instead of data...@noaa.gov during this shutdown period if you require assistance with HFRNet.

HFRNet should continue to run during the shutdown, but no changes (e.g., adding/removing HFR stations, changing antenna beampattern settings) will be performed until after I am able to return to work.

I look forward to resuming working with you after this shutdown, and continuing our collaborations to advance the U.S. IOOS HFR National Network along with all its functions in support of saving lives and property.

V/R,

Brian
