Hello IOOS DMAC Community,
We're pleased to announce that IOOS plans to host the 2026 IOOS DMAC Code Sprint at the Harte Research Institute, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with our partner GCOOS!
Please save the dates of November 3-5, 2026 for the fourth IOOS DMAC community Code Sprint. We're planning to host an in-person event in Corpus Christi, Texas, with the option for virtual participation for those who are unable to travel to be there in person. We will have a limited number of travel vouchers available again this year to assist with travel and hotel for in person attendees. They are made available by the IOOS Program Office for members of IOOS Regional Association staff and partners. More details will follow.
We'll be reaching out in the near future with more details about meeting logistics, sprint/activity planning, technologies we hope to use for the virtual component of the sprint, and all the rest.
If you have any suggestions or input regarding the sprint, please post them in the #dmac channel on the IOOS Slack at https://ioos.slack.com. Use this link to join if you haven't already joined our Slack workspace. As we have over the last few events, we expect to use Slack heavily during the sprint.
If you already have ideas about code sprint projects, we recommend that you submit an issue to the IOOS Code Sprint repository, identifying the scope of that topic. This will help ensure each code sprint topic has a plan that can be executed during the code sprint week.
Thanks and best wishes,
IOOS DMAC Team and GCOOS
