FYI, this might be of interest to those using convolutional neural networks.

NMFS Friday HackHours 3/20 @ 12pm PT.
Register for Zoom Link (only need to do once for the whole spring series): https://zoom.us/meeting/register/r-Zx5bztTdyylSEHe4Snug
Webpage: https://nmfs-opensci.github.io/NMFSHackDays-2026/

3/20 will be an introduction to convolutional neural networks and will compare a BRT to a CNN for a prediction task (cholorphyll-a). Eli Holmes (NWFSC) will guide you through a demo of making spatial map predicitons using these 2 models. We'll be working on Colab so you can run CNNs on GPU (free).

Open to all (in and out of NOAA) so feel free to share link.
