All,

I am opening a position for a Technical Officer – IMOS Ocean Radar Facility within the Coastal Oceanography group at UWA.

I am seeking someone with experience in WERA and/or CODAR SeaSonde systems, or related HF radar / RF / marine observing technologies, together with experience in:

  • supporting distributed technical observing systems; and/or
  • scripting or programming for troubleshooting, automation, or data handling.
We advertise for a Level 6, step 3 which corresponds to a professional staff salary range of approximately $95,000 – $105,000+ per annum, depending on specific enterprise agreement updates. This includes 17% superannuation, often with incremental progression after 12 months.

The role involves regular travel across the country after office-based triage. I therefore need someone who can work independently in field and operational settings, take a systematic approach to fault diagnosis, liaise effectively with local site contacts and service providers, and maintain clear technical records.

The position will be advertised shortly. Contact me directly if interested or if you need further details. Please also forward this to anyone who may be interested.
