Hello all,

This week we will be having a call on the topic of Xarray which will feature short presentations followed by questions and discussion.

We will have the following presentations:
  • Filipe Fernandes on Xarray
Xarray introduces labels in the form of dimensions, coordinates and attributes on top of raw NumPy-like multidimensional arrays, which allows for a more intuitive, more concise, and less error-prone developer experience.

Find the Xarray documentation here
  • Kristen Thyng on CF Xarray
cf_xarray mainly provides an accessor (DataArray.cf or Dataset.cf) that allows you to interpret Climate and Forecast metadata convention attributes present on xarray objects.

Find the CF Xarray documentation here
  • Andrew Barna on gsw-xarray
gsw-xarray is a wrapper for gsw python that will add CF attributes to xarray.DataArray outputs. It is meant to be a drop in wrapper for the upstream GSW-Python library and will only add these attributes if one argument to a function is an xarray.DataArray.

Find the gsw-xarray documentation here

The presentations will be followed by question and answer and discussion.

The agenda document is here.

We hope you can join!
