Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy Internship Track at the Institute of Living
The Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital invites applications for a one-year predoctoral internship beginning in September 2013. This internship, featuring a year-long part-time rotation at the Anxiety Disorders Center/Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ADC/CCBT; David F. Tolin, Ph.D., director) is part of the APA-accredited predoctoral internship program at the Institute of Living. The CBT track consists of general training in Clinical Psychology with a focus on cognitive-behavioral therapy and evidence-based practice. Accordingly, training will focus on a practical integration of psychological science and practice.
In addition to the work at the ADC/CCBT, the CBT internship track is comprised of additional four-month long rotations and electives, which may include adult or adolescent inpatient services, young adult services, health psychology, schizophrenia rehabilitation, clinical neuropsychology, and clinical health psychology. The CBT intern will have the opportunity to participate in collaborative clinical research with IOL faculty members.

A. Requirements for Application
Applicants must be enrolled in an APA-accredited Ph.D. or Psy.D. program in clinical psychology and have completed a minimum of 2 years of academic and practicum training in clinical psychology. Elevation to doctoral candidacy and completion of all academic requirements are necessary. Applicants are expected to have had basic course work and practicum in psychodiagnostic assessment and psychotherapeutic interventions. Applicants should also have training and experience in cognitive-behavioral and evidence-based interventions. A demonstrated capacity to participate in basic or applied research is desirable. Please specify in your cover letter your interest in THE CBT track.
B. Application and Interview Deadlines
All online APPIC applications, transcripts, and letters of reference must be submitted by November 1. Interviews with the training director, current interns, and members of the training committee will be arranged by invitation after a review of all application materials is completed. Selected applicants will be contacted by December 15 to arrange an interview. Interviews will be arranged between the end of December and the end of January.
