Dear colleague:

I'm writing to inform you about some exciting new clinical research at the Institute of Living that could be of benefit for your adult patients with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).

Our research program will be investigating whether transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), an FDA-approved treatment for depression, is also an effective treatment for GAD.  Patients will be randomly assigned to either a treatment or placebo group.  For patients who do not wish to pursue TMS therapy, there is also a separate MRI study that may be of interest.

We would be very grateful to receive a referral for any patients you have who might benefit from these studies.  If you or your patients have any questions or comments, please call the study research assistant Laura Bragdon, MA at 860-545-7386 or email her at lbra...@harthosp.org.

Best,

David
