The IOL Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy/Anxiety Disorders Center is pleased to announce its new Adult Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Program. Research shows that cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can be useful for adults with ADHD who have not responded optimally to medications.
Our 8-week CBT program aims to improve functioning using several core interventions:
Organization and planning training includes teaching participants to plan their time better, and to solve problems more effectively.
Distractibility resistance training involves teaching participants to sustain attention for progressively longer periods of time.
Challenging unhelpful thinking patterns includes helping participants learn to use adaptive thinking strategies in times of stress.
Cognitive remediation involves computerized training to improve attention, memory, and problem-solving.
