CBT is a time-limited, active treatment that aims to reduce depression by challenging unhelpful ways of thinking and by reversing patterns of behavior that allow depression to persist.
Unhelpful ways of thinking in depression include unrealistic, negative thoughts about one's self, feelings of helplessness, and pessimistic thoughts about the future. CBT helps people learn to identify and challenge these patterns of thinking.
Unhelpful behavior patterns in depression include a lack of activities that bring the person a sense of pleasure or accomplishment. In CBT, people learn to change their behavior so that life becomes more rewarding.
Our intensive program for depression lasts just 4 weeks. Participants will receive three 2-hour individual sessions per week with an expert CBT therapist.
