The Experience We Share….

This week at UAS, was more about looking at within so that we can see ourselves looking better when seen ahead. All of us were a part of a very inspiring session that made us look at our roles in a different way than before, all thanks to Dr. Jayaram, Director, Institute of Leadership and Institutional Development ILID. Having been on the road nine months down the line since the day we started, it was high time that we looked inside and buckled up to a more challenging path ahead. So now we present to you a reenergized and reinvented UAS . The guiding light now is to take art education as a social initiative and to give back to society in far better proportion than we earlier did. This is elucidated by our next goal to try and teach art in the form of hobby, entertainment and as a possible career option to people with disability.

On the other side of town at Time-Out, a bunch of kids had a fun filled session on theatre conducted by Siddhanth KS and learnt about alertness, observation and visualization. This was followed by a session on animation by Jagdeesh. The kids explored and developed their own idea and have already sown the seeds to be able to proudly boast of their very own 5 minute 2D animation film over a period of 4 months.

Theatre was again in store for the children when Siddhanth took them through improvisation theatre and the intricacies of voice modulation. The children got to learn about spontaneity, rhythm, modulation, intensity and many many more. This was then followed by a sketching session that gave them the basic idea of the right use of pencils, paper and other tools used for sketching. The children were taught how to draw a sketch beginning from the basics to usage of shadows and lighting and position of light source in sketching.

*Time Out Centre*

This week at Young World Forum , we have Hip Hop and western dance and advanced sketching on Saturday that paves the way for Sunday which offers Kathak and special art creativity session to the children at Time Out.

A few of us also went on Independence Day with Initiatives of Change (IOFC) to Navdrashanam to attend a daylong open session. This was an amazing experience; the place was a delight in itself, a going back to the roots of sorts for everyone there. An experience we have missed being born in the late 20th century. The activities done there involved everything from Kundalini awakening concepts to organic farming and how to fake an echo etc. The whole experience was very energizing and reinvigorating.
