Announcement:
Title: Small scale systems for treatment and zero discharge of effluent from a community septic tank that receives 11 m3 (2500 gallons) influent per day.
At a remote locality near Islamabad (Pakistan), effluent from septic tanks of some 15 or 16 houses (about 50 persons
) is currently disposed off into a nearby stream. There is a plan to divert all the effluent to one location and into a properly built septic tank (for about
2500 gallons or 11,365 m3 per day influent) and to aim for an onsite zero-discharge of effluent.
IOBB
invites participants to the
Internet Workshop to discuss the case study with Mr. Liaqat Hayat. You are welcomed to provide
suggestions and to discuss your experience and advice on small scale technologies that can offer zero water discharge of effluent from the septic tank.
++++++ This e-workshop is organised by the IOBB Working Group on Integrated Biosystems (
