On 17/10/2008, I hosted two ministers at my site and they asked me who actually
gave me the idea of feeding my fish and I told them you did.

Dear Jacky:

I have a crayfish farm, that is a closed system. --3 ten acre ponds, at grade, surrounded by a berm, with a stand pipe in each pond. There is a ten acre moat (ditch) around the ponds, below grade (the spoils from digging the ditch were used to create the berms). The moat (ditch) is fed by a well 450 deep, that bring up 54 F geothermally heated water, and then there are 3 submersable pumps in the ditch, which pump water into each of the ponds. The water circulates in the ponds, and then flows out of the stand pipes back into the moat (ditch). In this fashion the water recirculates. A picture of this can be seen at www.Duckhuntingfarm.com.

The system was designed by Doug Holland, a PhD from Aubrun, and run by Rebecca Dorsey a marine biologist from Duke. We were buying 3,000 pounds of crayfish from Louisiana, in March, and catching and selling 20,000 pounds a year from May through October.

When Rebecca left, I had to close the operation. Now I would like to reopen the operation, and "double crop" the ponds, i.e. raise crayfish. and some other compatible species. My research suggested that fresh water mussels or fresh water clams would be a compatible. That is why I need a source of these shell fish.

I would appreciate any thoughts you have. Thank you for your consideration.
