We have recently tested a simple Imbert style gasifier. It is a design
which is widely available on the internet and dates back to 1940 and
earlier.

We have been producing 10KW of electrical power using sawdust generated
gas piped to a small 4 cylinder internal combustion engine. We could
have produced as much as 30KW but we only used a smaller generator head
for convenience sake.

As a byproduct we produced about 100,000 BTU of surplus heat. This
could easily have been converted to the production of distilled water
as a side project. As much as 1,000 gallons of distilled water could
be produced per day with little effort.

While we used dry sawdust in this test we have conducted tests of
similar gasification equipment using animal manures and produced a high
energy hydrogen gas for these uses.

This means that remote power is now available by using scrap or waste
materials as fuel. In addition, distilled water can made as the
primary use of the heat or as a byproduct.
