Ethanol from Biomass

G'day All,

It seems there is some interest in this topic, which would fall in the
Bioenergy Working Group area. If there are more people interested and
some background information we could run an IOBB
e-discussion/conference. I think there was also some discussion in
this
area last year.

One important thing to consider is the energy balance for different
options for ethanol production, as some figures suggest more energy is
used in production than the resulting ethanol contains.

The food/fuel debate is also important! What will the ethanol be
derived
from and what resources will be needed for this?

As I will be overseas until late September I am not able to persue
this
much further at this stage, perhaps someone else can take the running.
