Dear iO Community,
The iO Comedy Network is looking to create 1-3 iO house video teams to create iO Original content to be hosted on the iOCN Channel. This content includes 1-off sketches, series, a ‘weekend update’ type news show, and parodies.
We’re reaching out to current performers and floaters etc. to extend an invitation to apply for this new team.
What’s the deal?
We’re looking for writers who can commit to the following:
● One, two hour writers’ meeting weekly (likely on Sunday mornings, Monday evenings, or
Tuesday Evenings)
● Writing Weekly pitches/outlines and/or scripts for new video content (one off sketches,
series etc.)
● Working as a team to turn top pitches into viable scripts (on a weekly basis)
● Working with our production team through pre-production, production, and post-
production (no skills past writing required)
What’s in it for you?
You’d be the creative team behind a new arm of iO content. All content that this group creates would be uploaded as iO Original content, and would be featured prominently on iO's YouTube channel, homepage, and social media networks.
iO Original content will be the top tier of content that we feature. We’re trying to build an online identity, and we’d want these teams to shape that. We’re really trying to grow iO’s presence in the online video space. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground level, to develop new skills, and to make something cool, and get some IMDB credits. You’d also be able to list this on your writing/acting resumes and link to videos you co-create for self-promotion.
How do I get involved?
Submit a writer’s packet by Thursday Oct 30th at 11:59pm to our email address, io...@ioimprov.com (If you’re interested in submitting but really can’t make this deadline for a particular reasons, let us know using the same email).
Your packet should include:
● (2) 1-6 page video scripts
● (7) “Weekend Update” style desk jokes (If you’d like to submit to be on the news show
team)
● (Optional) - One character piece / other writing sample. (5 page max)
● (Optional but encouraged) - links to video(s) you’ve made in the past
● Why you want to be apart of the writing team?
● Contact info / Schedule info
This will likely be a solid time commitment, so please only apply if you’d be able to commit regularly to meeting weekly, outside writing and at times, assisting with production.
