YIVO institute for Jewish Research in New York has kindly advised us of its Fall 2021 season commencing 30 August, which includes 30 online classes and 18 online public programmes.
The season includes Yiddish classes at every level from complete beginner to advanced; conversation classes; reading classes; literature, and cultural electives. The cultural electives are in both Yiddish and English. The Programmes include concerts; panel discussions on topics including the Jewish press today and European Jewry in the 21st century; book talks exploring a new translation of a lost Sholem Aleichem novel; a graphic novel by New Yorker cartoonist Ken Krimstein exploring the lives of Jewish teenagers before the Holocaust, and more.
