That was helpful - it was a more complete set of installation instructions than I had. In particular, it said to reboot the machine after installation of the drivers. Unfortunately, nothing changed after I rebooted. So I am only assuming that my current drivers are up to date. I admit to being confused, though, because the release dates for the Control Center (i.e., scanner driver - it is an all-in-one machine) and printer driver I downloaded were both in October 2018, and my Control center copyright date is 2016. I guess as long as it continues to work, though, I am OK.
I have been using the Brother Utilities tool for many years over several printers. It is a menu of Brother utilities that gives access to Control Center 4, the utility I actually use. I am presently using it with a Brother DCP-7065DN. That is how I control the scanning function on my printers. Beginning today, the Brother Utilities menu opens, but clicking on the Control Center 4 icon does not open it.
Yes, multiple brother devices are configurable in CC4 at the same time. I would never recommend using Home Mode, it is actually more confusing than Advance Mode, which is far simpler / more streamlined.
I just recently picked up a Brother ADS-3600W scanner. It works great except when I try and use the control centre 4 to scan to a Searchable PDF, I get the .NET error pasted below. Everything scans fine, the file is created & searchable, but I get this error 1-2 x after a scan, and it is really annoying. This is on a new computer that pretty much only has a browser, and the Brother scanner driver & bundled apps installed on it.
Odd, I don't get the error when scanning on my main desktop PC, and I have no idea what is different. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the brother scanner driver & software, same error. I tried over USB and over LAN, same error.
We are trying to connect our wireless Brother printer to our network using our Nighthawk R7000 router. We have the printer plugged into the router via USB cable and USB port on the back of the router. Problem #1: When I go into router configurations, it doesn't even show up as a connected wired device, even when I make sure the printer is actively on (It's always on, jsut often sleeping). One laptop can print fine to the printer, wirelessly, no problem. Problem #2: From another laptop, we have to use the Netgear USB control center and manually connect the printer every time before we print something. Problem #3: We also have Samsung Android phones and tablets and cannot figure out at all how to connect those to print. There is not an Android Netgear USB control center app that we can find. Can anyone PLEASE help?
My printer model is MFC-8480DN which it turns out is not a wireless printer. I have conncted via wired Ethernet now, but that still doesn't solve our problems. It does now show up in our list of wired devices, but that's it. I still have to go through the Netgear USB control center to what seems like "wake up" the printer before I can print. And if there isn't a version of this for Android, then I'm assuming that will still be the roadblock to print from Android devices.
you're right, I use TB 64bit and when you download ControlCenter3 , first you have to choice the system you used (win10 64bit) but controlCenter3 seems to be always 32bit . That means I should have to switch my TB from 64 to 32bit without loosing my message . I'm in France, it's late , I will do it tomorrow .Thanks, answer you tomorrow
