Hello, Ill do my best to provide support, I just can't guarantee
anything.
Either a hostname or an IP is needed, given both it will take the IP.
Hostname is largely in there to make remote connections easier if say,
you have a hostname for your home network. First, just to be sure,
you set your firewall to allow the port and/or program as needed?
Second, are there any error messages on the server as/after you try
connecting? As a diagnosis measure if you haven't tried it yet, try
running Ander's desktop Windows network client (http://
www.norgesgade14.dk/networkbtremote.php) on either the same computer,
or another one in the house (ideal to also test firewall settings) to
confirm the server is working.
Also, thanks for pointing out I forgot to mention firewalls, the FAQ
and guide still need some improvement, and if someone points out a
hole in them, I will try and fill it. I will go add a note about
firewalls, in rather generic terms admittedly.
