I am sorry. But this is not possible, and probably never will be.
Apple still has not provided the level of Bluetooth access I need for
communicating with an NXT, and all conversations with people at Apple
about this have all left me with the impression that it will never
happen. The companies releasing bluetooth devices that interact with
apps on iOS devices are doing so with new hardware, including a
special, proprietary authentication protocol and hardware
authentication chip, which I cannot add to people's NXT's. The
details of the external accessory (bluetooth and/or dock connector)
stuff is covered by a closed, NDA covered sub group within Apple,
which I cannot get access to, as they require at a minimum that you be
a hardware manufacturer with an existing track record to even get
in.
Until Lego decides they want this in an NXT (and it would require new
hardware most likely), or Apple provides the level of access I need in
a non jailbroken device (and no, I wont be doing a version for Cydia),
this will not happen. Feel free to send feedback to Apple, that
developers need the ability to talk to Serial Port Profile bluetooth
devices, or Lego that you want an NXT capable of talking to an
iPhone.
