CanI add my tuppence-worth as another request for PHP to return to macOS 12. My first thought was that it was a licensing issue, but PHP uses a BSD-style license, so I can't understand the rationale for removing it.

The situation is similar for Perl. You can install perl separately via homebrew or macports, or via plenv ( ) or perlbrew (perlbrew.pl). This is preferred anyway since in the last few OSX releases, Apple has edited some of the internal Perl toolchain modules (such as ExtUtils::MakeMaker) in a broken way without talking to the developer team (or even responding to repeated pleas to fix their broken changes).

Buna hi gerek yoktu.

It would be good if Apple allows custom installation that makes php executable into /usr/bin. Right now, the situation is breaking some tools, such as phpcs in PHPStorm. I tried to solve it by installing PHP with Homebrew, and it doesn't solve the problem.

What upsets me about the move to big sur and then monterey is that the upgrade program should check that i have apache, php and mysql and if it finds that there it should stop and say: hey man, this upgrade is going to create problems for you ... do you want to think about it before you proceed?

So what I'm going top do now is upload the (daily) backedup MySQL database to a hosting service that will also support PHP. Then I'll find the time to work out how to migrate my admin systems to Monterey - and then buy a new Macbook Pro - after I know how to migrate to that environment.

Apple is not the only company to stop bundling it and give the responsibility to the end user. Claris also used to ship PHP with FileMaker Server and removed that. So Claris had to provide instructions to get your own php set up for custom web publishing in the Claris Engineering blog: =000035470&language=en_US

Using all this, I have had great success installing my own PHP on both my macOS FileMaker Server for custom PHP web publishing and my macOS Web Server (for a web site, munki server and munkireport server and various remote proxies. (both Macs on Monterey).

This is simply frustrating. After wasting 3 hours of time I came to know that there is no php installed. ***! Apple. Why wouldn't you include php by default in a linux clone? Here is another dumb thing. I install and fix php in previous version only to be wiped out by next freaking update. ******* waste of my and thousands of other users. Apple sucks. Get it installed in next upgrade and leave us in peace.

Unfortunately a bunch of my users (and me, too) suffer from sudden lack of connectivity on macOS 12 with GP 5.2.8-23. It seems like the issue occurs after longer period of user inactivity ( > 8 hours). I haven't found any issue on PAN-OS side and the only solution for time being is to reboot a mac The issue is not permanent and not repeatable.

BTW a few minutes ago I opened a lid of my macbook and even if I was able to connect to Internet suddenly it suddenly died. However, this time I change of GW was sufficient to bring it to life again....

I use one of my macs with newest OS however the second one (which is more important) is usually updated long after release. Unfortunately this time I had to reinstall macos and I did it to Monterey, too....**bleep** happens

I wanted to share that even if I migrated to 5.2.10 same issue still occurs. I found a user who is disconnected once-twice daily (win10). Then during chat with another user he was disconnected twice. GP logs collected, support ticket re-opened

After reviewing the release notes I have to say it is sooooo huge release: a lot of important fixes especially for functionality of handling DNS, macos, MFA, SAML, split tunneling, local networking....

Hi, first time on here.... I'm a V21 user and now that I'm semi-retired really don't want to upgrade (spend my pension) to a later version. I do however wish to keep my iMac upgraded and move to the new OS Monterey. The question therefore is will V21 work at all with Monterey and are there any real issues if it works however flakily?

In my tests, some computers were fine, others were prone to crashes in monterey, especially on files using AC24 or older. AC25 runs ok on Monterey, but any tech support questions are typically met with fingers pointed at the OS update rather than looking for real solutions/work arounds... so I'll give you the warning I have been given on updating OS (or buying new computers that ONLY have the new OS): "this is what you get for being on the bleeding edge"

Graphisoft recommends to hold MacOs updates until Archicad is tested and bug fixed. This can take half a year, often does. And old version of Archicad won't even install on the latest MacOs. If you want to continue using V21 on the latest operating system, you need switch to Windows. Or save old Mac with old MacOs just to run old Archicad. And buy a new Mac to do not Archicad stuff.

I'm still clinging on to AC21Solo running on MacOS Mojave. Been nervous to change my machine or MacOS after all I read. I cant afford to upgrade AC 21 and it does all I need to be honest. My question is...I see that AC21 is listed elsewhere as being compatible with both W10 and also W11 ! If I was to change from MacOS to Windows10/11 would the files I have created in AC18-21 open under Windows ? If they open am I likely to see any major problems or would they be essentially fine ? Any thoughts would be much appreciated

Many thanks for the reply Barry. It would be interesting to hear from any community members who have actually tried this ? Font changes wouldn't be an issue. I will have a search around as Im new to the GC. It will me shame to leave MacOS, but it's updated so often and it seems compatibility issues arise...along with dropped support from AC for legacy versions. Sad.

We work with multiple versions of Archicad concurrently, namely AC22 to AC25 now. Ongoing projects don't usually get updated to a newer one, and some projects do last many years, that's why the range of different versions (that's 4 versions, but actually none of the projects is on AC23).

Unfortunately you are right about MacOS and Macs in general. Nowadays it's more a pain than ever, support being dropped for perfectly capable machines, yearly cycles of OS to try to follow and catch up somehow, all the Mx silicon soup in there now too, and native lack of some serious apps from Mx.

Mikas...thank-you. That helps a lot and gives me confidence. It doesn't sound like you have many issues ( if any..) jumping from MacOS to WindowsOS. The new M chips in Mac also seem to be adding to peoples problems. I have colleagues who can't get Graphic design software to run properly with the new M chips. It's all a nightmare TBH. Given I cant afford thousands to upgrade my AC21 whilst at the same time as buying a new machine, I think I will try a swing towards Windows 10/11. Wish me luck.
