How could you pass this up?
Maybe you'd love to come to RIVERKEEPER's Birthday Bash Saturday night but some truly more important event calls so here's what you can do instead:
The event’s silent auction has over 30 items including ecotours, sailing trips, food and wine gift baskets, artwork, sports items, and gift certificates for restaurants, acupuncture, massage, and more!   If you are not able to attend the event, we are still giving you the opportunity to bid by proxy on some unique items you won’t find at any other auction!  To bid, please email tfur...@bnriverkeeper.org by 7:00pm on Friday.

Hand-painted Rain Barrel and Diverter

Value = $550                Minimum Bid = $150

Hand-painted by local Buffalo artist, Sally Treanor, this rain barrel will be a delightful and eco-friendly addition to any home.  Placed beneath a gutter’s downspout, the 60 gallon barrel collects rainwater and prevents it from going into the sewer system.  Many gardeners swear by the use of captured rainwater for the health of their gardens.  The barrel is complete with threaded spigot and mosquito-preventing netting.  The diverter inserts into the downspout for easy winter maintenance.  Excellent gift idea.
Niagara Gorge Adventure - Private Hiking Tour

Value = $300                Minimum Bid = $75

Hike along the Lower Niagara Gorge with the Riverkeeper staff and experience the power of the Lower Niagara River. This two hour, round trip hike begins at the parking lot in Art Park and follows a well-marked trail along the river up to the spectacular views of the Robert Moses and Adam Beck Power Plants. Bring your binoculars to spot the many Black Crowned Night Herons, Blue Herons, and other birds along the way. The tour is for up to ten people (children older than 10 are welcome). This hike is moderate in difficulty and sturdy shoes are required.
Discover Buffalo River - Private Canoe/Kayak Tour

Value = $405                Minimum Bid = $125

Paddle down the Buffalo River leisurely with Riverkeeper staff and discover this hidden, natural gem.  Look for wild turkeys, kingfishers and beavers while learning about the river’s ecology and Riverkeeper’s efforts to restore the Buffalo River over the past two decades.  Canoes or kayaks (winner’s preference), paddles, and life jackets will be provided for this four hour tour. Beginners and children (8 and up) are welcome.  The trip goes from the Harlem Road Fishing Access to the confluence with Cazenovia Creek and back.  The tour is for up to 8 people.

Power of Niagara Falls - Private Biking Tour

Value = $300                Minimum Bid = $75

Join Riverkeeper’s own Larry Brooks on an interpreted bike ride along the Niagara River to learn about the environmental history of the region, the impact from the hydropower industry on the river, and current efforts to protect the mighty river. The 14-mile, round trip bike ride goes from the NYPA Intake Towers to Devil’s Hole and back. Eco tour for up to 8 people. Please provide your own bikes and helmets.

Black Rock Skimmer

Value = $1,000               Minimum Bid = $350

A 15' "pulling boat" capable of holding one or two adults but really intended for fitness rowing for one.  Built and donated by the Buffalo State College Maritime Center and Mr. Richard Butz.

Grain Elevator Tour

Value = $600                Minimum Bid = $150

Tour for 6-8 people led by Riverkeeper’s Board President, Greg Stevens.  Includes lunch at an original grain scooper’s pub and a motor launch tour of the river with a discussion of historical industry and current redevelopment.
