Hi All,
I just want to confirm that Riverkeeper staff (Jill, Maureen, myself) will be attending the ECHDC Canalside presentation this evening at 6 p.m. at the Albright Knox.
We will be watching the presentation and reviewing the project for its responsiveness to our core concerns:
- preservation of the land along the water's edge as open space (I believe they have plans to locate a hotel there)
- space programming for other, more interactive water access (canoe launches, etc.)
- site impacts on water quality (use of green infrastructure, etc.)
I'm not sure how the plans will relate to the inner/outer harbor bridge connection or the outer harbor at this time.
As an organization, we will submit comments on our core concerns by the November 2 deadline.
As there will likely be much community discussion about the project site, we encourage you all to attend as your time allows.
