Curt — HUGE NEWS! Today, the EPA and President Obama are finalizing the Clean Power Plan — the biggest step we’ve ever taken in the fight against climate change! For years, we have been working toward this very moment: the first-ever national limits on dangerous carbon pollution from power plants. And today, President Obama and the EPA are delivering big time.
By no means have we gotten to this point alone. The EPA received more than 8 MILLION comments strongly supporting carbon pollution limits, and LCV supporters like you contributed more than one million of those comments! By joining together and demanding strong protections from carbon pollution, we created real change that is going to significantly impact the outcome in the fight against climate change.
This is a win for our health. This is a win for our climate. This is a win for all future generations.

Curt — I can’t emphasize enough what a victory this is, not just for supporters like you who have called on Congress, governors, state legislators, and beyond to support carbon pollution limits from power plants, but also for the 138.5 million people who live where pollution levels are often so high, it’s dangerous to breathe. For the hundreds of thousands of Americans who have to live with the catastrophic effects of climate change like intense droughts, wildfires, and super storms. For the national security that our children and our children’s children deserve that is seriously threatened by climate change.
We’re on cloud nine today, but we know the fight isn’t over yet. Groups like the Koch brothers, ALEC, and the Chamber of Commerce, along with Mitch McConnell and his allies in Congress who refuse to acknowledge the necessity of action against climate change, will do everything they can to stand in the way of the Clean Power Plan and the EPA’s ability to enforce it. We’ll be taking the fight to the states, too, where we’ll defend against polluter attacks and support Governors’ proposals for clean energy solutions.
We won’t let climate change deniers' willed ignorance or the greed of their polluter buddies ruin this historic moment. By speaking out TODAY and supporting the Clean Power Plan, we are telling these polluters and the world that climate change is not a future generation’s problem. It’s our problem … and opportunity. We are going to take real steps to face it head on. Don’t let the polluter noise drown us out — support the Clean Power Plan and send a message to the global community that the time to act on climate is NOW.
