I have the option to get this game on either platform, but I'm not sure what one.
I do not know of the differences between the games on these two platforms.
As it has multiplayer maybe I should get it for Xbox 360.
The free DLC is apparently just the same as the other Assassin's Creed DLC. In other words, it sucks. So if your friends are on the 360 or PS3, and if you plan on playing the multiplayer, get whichever version your friends have.
That Lens of Truth comparison shows that the 360 version has a very, very small advantage in terms of textures and the contrast is different on both, but the difference is so small that it doesn't even matter.
I would go for the xbox version if the screen tearing is bad on the PS3. Depending on just HOW bad the screen tearing is, I know I can sometimes get a little ill from the screen tearing on a consistent basis. I remember having a hard time with Darksiders on the 360 becasue of that.
I would probably go for the 360 version. I just got it for my PS3, and I don't have any problems with the mp, but the frame rate is pretty bad in single player. Hopefully this will get fixed over time.
Own, the PS3 version. The free DLC (Copernicus) is meh. There are seriously no technical issues that spoil the game for you in any way. I just have no friends on my 360, and I prefer the PS3-controller for this kind of game (actually: 360 controller: awesome for shooters, PS3 controller: better for everything else - IMHO).
