The song "Away from Home" by Dr. Alban is an ode to anyone who has ever felt out of place or lost due to having to move away from their home. The lyrics tell the story of a young country girl who leaves her home and arrives in New York with only one dollar. Despite her unfamiliarity with the city and how to make a living, she is able to find a friend in a little boy and persevere. Ultimately, the song is about the courage and resilience of those who make difficult transitions in order to pursue their dreams. It serves as a reminder to never forget where you come from, even as you venture away from home.

The best way to do this is for someone from the congregation (preferably not the pastor) to commit to stopping by the visitors home that Sunday afternoon. A 30 second visit on the doorstep can be as effective as an hour long visit. It may even be preferable. In fact, the visit can be just as effective if no one is even home!

CSX Transportation pointed to a hazardous chemical in a rail car as the source of the explosion that rattled homes miles away. A company spokesman said officials still weren't sure what caused the sodium chlorate to explode, but it ignited another chemical in a second car.

A new video of the crash, captured by a nearby business's surveillance camera, shows Alban Jr.'s truck approaching the crossing before the train is in sight, driving away from his business. Without stopping, the truck heads across the tracks as the train approaches. The truck appears to get mostly across before the lead CSX locomotive slams into it. The impact wraps the truck's white cab and a portion of its trailer around the side of the train, and the train drags the wreckage forward. The video appeared first on the Baltimore News Journal website.

Well, after some difficulty getting a connecting flight from Heathrow this weekend (see news article), I have made it home safely! I was extremely lucky to make it back yesterday, many folks are still stuck in London. My bag is somewhere out there in the world, but I was assured last night that there is a very high likelihood I will have it by Christmas. Just another one of the many adventures I have had on this trip. While in line I could help but snap this ironic photo.
