As some of you may know, Spiritualism and Mediumship began in 1848 with the Fox Sisters (who were Canadian by the way from Prince Edward County Upper Canada aka Ontario).  Their memorial stone has become illegible so funds need to be raised to repair it so their names are legible.

Hi Folks....

Excitement in the air.  The Cemetery has given us the go ahead to re-carve the Headstone of the Fox Sisters which has been unreadable a long time.  We have created a Fund Raiser for this project.

The stone will be re-carved and the balance of the monies will go into a Trust Fund established for the purpose of preservation of the stone by perpetual care -- thus it won't have to be recarved again in future years.

I first visited the grave with my daughters in 2007 but the other priorities precluded this task....so after eight long years the dream will become reality with the help of Spiritualists of the World, friends and associates.

THE FOX HEADSTONE PROJECT -- 2015

Calling all Spiritualists and friends! 

After months, in fact years of effort we have been granted the right to have the headstone of the Fox Sisters re-carved as it is now unreadable.  

I will be helping with the process as Frank Kotowski of New York and myself have worked together on this project since last convention in 2014. He scheduled a tour to the grave site and those attending were appalled at the condition of the headstone. This visit was the initiation of a new effort toward getting the re-carving accomplished.

The request for proposals have been sent out to the local stone cutters. Once bids are received, we will need to establish dates for the job to be completed.  However, this takes money and so a Fund Raiser Request is in preparation. If we all participate, dollar upon dollar with meet that need.

At present flyers are in process and will be issued as soon as we know the cost of the job.  Frank has agreed to handle the donations and has already establsihed a Fox Headstone Project Checking Account.  He will send me reports of all donations received so we will be handling all actions together.  Please send your email or snail mail address to me at http://www.marilynjawtry.com/contact.html now. Once we have the price of the job, we will be sending out requests for this Fund Raiser.  Every single dollar is important to get this mission accomplished.  Perhaps we can have a thermometer display keeping the world apprised of funds received. 

Requests will go out worldwide.  With all of us sharing the cost, we can get this job done. It is not only a Headstone for the Fox Sisters but another Memorial of Modern Spiritualism. Be a part of the Historical Event.
