Dear Class of Modern Linguistics,
Choose one of the following with care. Please see what you like, and
what is possible for you within the ten weeks that you may have for
this purpose, at the most. Nearly all of these topics will involve
data-gathering. For some, simple notes may be enough; but for some
others, you may have to use a voice recording. Please ensure you have
tools for the task.
A number of topics I have suggested can be modified to suit your
situation. Please check with me if you have any confusion or ideas.
Keep the following dates in mind:
- 31st August: Topic Selected
- 21st September: Complete Literature Review
- 11th October: Complete Data Gathering
- 12th October: Submit a fifty-word abstract of your paper
- 19th October: Presentations begin. The presentations should be ten
minutes long, and we will have five each day. Don’t have more than six
slides for each presentation.
- 18th November: Submit your term paper (Another mail will ensue about
the design and templates of the term paper)
Finally, as both you and I know: No man-made system is immune to human
deceit, just as all human beings are capable of producing great work.
(Great work = Interest + Hard work)
Good luck!
